Steps To Register On DLT Platform

Entities not on the DLT platform may not be able to send messages

Step 1: Entity/Enterprise Registration

This includes details of KYC (Know Your Customer) documents like PAN, GST, TAN, CIN, etc.

Step 2: Header (Sender ID) registration

Messages are classified into Promotional, Transactional, Service Explicit.

Step 3: Content Template Registration

Entities are required to register all their templates on the blockchain DLT SMS system.

Step 4: Templates registered on DLT Platform

Once your template gets approve from DLT platform. Require all the approved template in Excel format.

DLT Guideline Update as on October 11, 2020

Every Content Template that is being registered by a Principal Entity should contain ‘Brand Name(s)’ (Complete business name/brand name/trademark) in the content field. That have been registered so far, should be updated with ‘Brand Name(s)’ by October 31, 2020.

DLT Registration FAQ’S

Yes, DLT registration is mandatory for every Company, Entity, Telemarketer, and Reseller.

  1. You need to register as an Entity for sending SMS (both promotional and transactional) to the customers.
  2. You need to register as a Telemarketer for reselling SMS service (such as bulk SMS).

You can apply for Entity Registration on Videocon (Ping Connect) for free. For Telemarketer registration, the charges are INR 5,000 + GST for all operators including Airtel, Vodafone Idea, JIO, etc.

The complete process for DLT registration includes 4 important steps:

  1. Step 1: Entity/ Enterprise Registration
  2. Step 2: Header (Sender ID) Registration
  3. Step 3: Consent Template Registration
  4. Step 4: Content Template Registration

DLT process is initiated by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). However, you need to contact the telecom operators such as Airtel, Vodafone Idea (VILPOWER), JIO (Reliance), Videocon (PingConnect), MTNL, BSNL, TATA, etc. for DLT Registration.

Header

You need to follow specific guidelines and steps from different operators to register your Header (Sender ID) template on the DLT platform.

Once you get DLT approval on your Header or Sender ID, you may use it for sending SMS.

However, if you fail to send SMS using the DLT approved Header or Sender ID even after 24 hours of approval, write your query to contact@digitalgyb.com

In this case, upload a document to prove the co-relation between your Company Name and the Sender ID (Header). If the registrar is satisfied with the document of proof, your Header (Sender ID) may get approved.

Consent

No, it is mandatory for a principal entity to register a consent template on DLT platform to acquire consent from new subscribers prior to send commercial communication.

A consent is valid for the period of 12 months from the time of approval.

General Questions

After completing Telemarketer Registration, go to Telemarketer Request and add Insta Gyb with the appropriate Telemarketer ID for individual operators. For more information on Insta Gyb Telemarketer ID, click here.

No, you have to proceed with few more steps to complete your DLT registration.

  1. Add Header (Sender ID)
  2. Add your service provider as a Telemarketer in your account.

Only DLT approved Header (Sender ID) will get parsed from operators and non DLT approved headers will get blocked. It is highly recommended that all the entities and telemarketers must get registered immediately to enjoy uninterrupted SMS sending services.

In this case, make sure that:

  • you have received OTP (one-time pin) on the registered mobile number and email id.
  • you have clicked the email verification link for confirmation.

 

If you meet both the requirements mentioned above, then you may write your query to the support team of the operator that you have registered with. You will need to provide your Application Number, Company Name, and Registered Email ID in the mail.

Click on the “forgot password” and follow the instructions. If you are still not able to log in to your account, contact the support team of the operator.

Yes, it is mandatory for a Principal Entity to define its line of business. The Entity can choose from the list of options provided on the platform during the signup process.

No, a Principal Entity cannot send commercial communication related to other line of businesses as it is strictly prohibited. New TRAI regulations mandates that the content of the commercial communication must be stringent to the line of business of the PE only.

For Principal Entity and Telemarketer registration, the payments are accepted through the following modes:

i. Online mode: Debit Cards, Credit cards, Internet Banking.
ii. Offline mode: Cheque and Demand Draft (DD).

Telemarketer registration is renewal after five years and the fee shall be decided later.
